Do I need previous travel industry experience?

Previous travel industry experience is welcome but not required. We value professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Are there any fees to join?

There is no additional startup fee to join Coastal Connections by Boardwalk. Independent advisors pay a monthly subagent fee to our host agency, Outside Agents. The currently listed fee is $16 per month ($192 annually), which includes access to professional travel planning resources, Travefy, and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. Fees and benefits are subject to change.

Is this a salaried position?

No. Advisors work as independent contractors, not employees. Compensation is commission-based and depends on completed travel sales and the terms of the independent advisor agreement.

Can I work remotely and set my own schedule?

Yes. Travel advising can be conducted remotely, and independent advisors have flexibility in managing their schedules. However, advisors are responsible for maintaining communication with clients, meeting deadlines, and providing dependable service.

What training and support are available?

Our host agency, Outside Agents, provides access to training, supplier resources, and professional travel planning tools. Advisors working with Coastal Connections by Boardwalk can also receive agency-level guidance as they develop their travel business.

Am I responsible for finding my own clients?

Yes. Independent advisors are responsible for developing their own client relationships and building their travel business. Success requires consistent effort, professionalism, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

Do I have to recruit other travel advisors?

No. This opportunity focuses on planning and selling travel, not recruiting other advisors. Compensation is based on travel sales under the terms of the advisor agreement.
